snap shots from the outer banks.

while i would love to do a full recap, i’m totally swamped at work and exhausted.

wild horses, afternoons on the beach, wright brothers memorial, seafood dinners, birthday cake, lighthouses, s’mores, & my favorite bridge ever*.

it was a great & relaxing weekend. but work is real tough right now, y’all.

*total sarcasm. not a fan of the bridge/tunnel combo.

today’s lunch was for mac & cheese, sunshine, & catching up with an old coworker.

we’re both huge foodies and when i heard macmart was making a special appearance in LOVE park today i knew i could not miss this opportunity.

little italy (italian mac mixed with homemade italian garlic croutons, crispy parmesan chicken bites, topped with fresh mozzarella & dressed in a drizzle of tangy marina sauce) for me, & a create your own (jalapenos, carmelized onions, & corn bread crumble) for my friend.

amazing would be an understatement. highly recommended if you come across this truck!

loving this new purchase from the container store.

it’s such a clean & easier way to store my bracelets (as opposed to across the top of my dresser).

i also bought a taller one to hold more of my necklaces.

so, if you’re looking for a cheap way to store/display some of your jewelry the container store has these and lots of other great options. highly recommended!

past few days in snapshots & words

thursday - phillies v. cardinals game. first game (& ice cream!) of the season. spoiler: they lost.

friday - [no photos] girls night in complete with wine & chinese. the food was free (mess up in delivery for the win!).

saturday - a big softball win, a philadelphia soul (arena football) game & night out in philly.

sunday - container store and convincing myself i don’t need everything in the store.

hope everyone had a great & relaxing weekend!

saturday my friend and i bought last minute tickets to see the bayside tigers play at the trocadero in philly.

if you think that sounds like a 90s cover band you would be correct. & it was every bit as awesome as it sounds.

now, i’ve seen several 80s cover bands but there is just something about the 90s. think flashbacks to middle school dances & away message statuses. i may have been born in the 80s, but i was definitely a 90s child. ok, let’s be real, most of the songs played are in my current playlist anyway.

oh, and there were confetti blasts at the end…

[they play every friday night at the canal room in nyc. if they don’t come back to philly soon there is a good chance i’ll be up to nyc to see them (kidding. kind of).]

what a great long weekend in dallas!

a bit delayed but it’s been a crazy past few days.

we got in thursday and headed out for dinner at sfuzzi for our friend/host’s birthday. then we hit up a few local bars in uptown dallas and took advantage of the great thursday night specials (kung fu saloon, primebar, & concrete cowboy) .

friday was for breakfast at bread winners & being touristy. we even went on a trolley ride! my friend who lives there actually really enjoyed it, too. before our friends arrived from houston we went to the katy trail ice house for happy hour. the bar entrance is literally on their running trail. great views (wink). we kicked off the evening with a huge pre-game & headed back out to experience some more of dallas’ nightlife (social house & renfield’s corner).

saturday was a gorgeous day so we shook off our hangovers at bread winners with brunch and bloody marys. following brunch & a nap we headed to top golf which was hands down one of my favorite places (not only in dallas, but life!). if you live near one in TX or IL you need to go. i would love for them to open up around the country - i would be there every weekend. there is tons to do while you wait as well (we had about a 1.5 hr wait). after topgolf we headed to SMU’s campus to hit up twisted root. the burgers were amazing. saturday night was a bit more low key with some dancing & a cover band (bbc - british beverage company).

& sunday we headed home!

now, all i need is a weekend to recover from the weekend.
