Post Grad Slump

the firm 10 year later.

i just finished the book the other night (i’ve been meaning to read it forever) and just in time for the new mini series on NBC. the book was really good and i’m glad i’m all caught up.

[i never saw the movie (circa 1993) staring Tom Cruise, but it’s definitely next on my list.]

to be honest, i’m not really sure how much of the 2 hour premiere i actually paid attention to… have you seen Josh Lucas’ eyes?!

is anyone else watching? have you read the book/seen the movie?

i actually really liked this show!

i think christina applegate & will arnett are so funny. & of course maya rudolph (after seeing her in bridesmaids i have a new found love for her)!

but, they work at a tv station? really? lorne michaels, you couldn’t think of something else?

& could NBC have anymore cross references? between the voice & america’s got talent i’m tired of seeing the same people perform. but before i could even pray i didn’t see another artist, who pops up on the screen? oh, just nick cannon. & where is maya rudolph’s character going for a bbq? over to stevie nicks’ (she performed on both TV & AGT this summer)! okay, so she didn’t actually make an appearance, but still.

[note: i’m just joking around - the show was very funny & i can’t wait to see where they take it!]

anyone catch this show on nbc on friday night?

it was okay. i spent the night in & caught the first two episodes (they show two back to back).

i think the part that really confused me was that jessica lucas’ character is named riley…like the same name from when she was on melrose place (2009 edition)….weird.

i think i’ll keep it on my dvr lineup (not much else on on a friday night). but, you’re not missing anything. i promise.

let’s just say - the two main characters/friends that are hooking up are no mila kunis and justin timberlake.

Parenthood.

I started watching this show out of boredom on OnDemand last year. And…I got hooked.

It’s funny. It’s serious. It’s so true. It focuses on adults. It focuses on kids. It focuses on relationships between families, friends and a mixture of both. There is at least one character on the show I guarantee you can relate to.

Basically, if you’re not watching it…you should be.

Okay a few things about Sing Off.

One - Great idea. But, Nick Lachey. Really? What is it with ex-boyband members hosting singing competitions. Joey Fatone and the Singing Bee? Although, I actually liked that show.

Two - The judges are totally random. My mom already confessed that she can not stand Nicole Scherzinger. She also thought Ben Folds was an actor. I am loving Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men. You’ll never find me complaining about some Philly lovin.

Three - Nota is gonna kill “Down” tomorrow. That preview was amazing.

Four - The one guy from Beelzebubs, despite being a student at Tufts, isn’t quite sure if he’s an only child. How do you “kind of grow up as an only child.” Did you or did you not have siblings?

Five - Maxx Factor has got to go. So does Noteworthy. Not feeling them AT ALL.
