Post Grad Slump

scenes from: phillies v. astros last night. the rain never keeps me away (at least not when i’m covered). plus, free hat giveaway!

it was a tad chilly for last night’s phillies game, but we sucked it up.

we bought the group tickets a few months back, so april 30th sounded like it would be warm enough…wrong. but, it was $1 dog night. that’s not a night i pass up so willingly.

so, we had a quick bite and a few drinks at xfinity live [pbr bar, obviously] & headed over to the game. then, we stocked up. on hot dogs. you would have thought we never saw them before.

all in all the phils pulled out a win & it was a great time. we also witnessed a girl throwing some guy’s hat over the ledge, he in turn throwing beer on her, and then both of them getting kicked out. fine philadelphia entertainment right there.

who’s ready for some post season baseball?!

these guys are.

& so is this city. we love our phillies (especially when they’re winning!) and we’re ready to cheer them on to the world series.

but first, the NLDS. [first game tomorrow vs. the cardinals!]

philadelphia is known for many things. murals & our love for the phillies are two.

combining both? amazing.

this mural will stand 8 stories high and should be completed by next summer.

The mural will feature more than 30 prominent players depicting historical moments from the team’s record-long history, including the 1980 and 2008 World Series championships.

Plus, The Phillies Mural includes space for one more player, to be chosen by fans via online voting on phillies.com. Details on the final player vote will be forthcoming in the upcoming weeks.

Said Mayor Michael A. Nutter. “There is nothing we enjoy more in Philadelphia than our sports teams, and this mural will share our love for the Phillies with everyone who visits.”

It will be located in Center City on the face of a building at 24th & Walnut. The mural will be facing I-76 along the Schuylkill Expressway.

Also (!) they’re going to have a few community paint days where you can take part!

& just like that the phillies are in the playoffs [for the 5th straight year in a row]!

Just some [Phillies] newbies taking the stage during Shane Victorino’s charity fashion show on Thursday.

After Hunter Pence & John Mayberry walked fully clothed down the runway, Pence decided to reappear and apparently strip for the guests.

They are certainly making their presence known. Way to fit in, boys.
